Mr. J.L. “Jim” Mullins, 45, of Rogers, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at his home.
He was born Dec. 10, 1957, in Muleshoe, to Nelda and George L. Mullins.
He married Kellye Love on Nov. 29, 1993,
He grew up in the Dora area and graduated from Dora High School in 1974. While in high school he participated in FFA. He and his father ran the family ranch and farm operation together until his dad died in 1991. He continued to ranch and farm until 1996. For the past year he was employed as a road maintainer for Roosevelt County. He was a member of Dora Baptist Church and was a volunteer fireman on the Dora Fire Department. Family members said he liked to work on cars and play with his two little girls.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kim; a sister, Leslie Mullins; and his father, George Mullins.
Survivors include his wife, Kellye of the home; two sons, Randall James Love of Germany and Caleb Lee Humphrey of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Krystal Racheil Mullins and Katonna Paige Mullins, both of the home; his mother, Nelda Chamberland (and husband, Bill); and two sisters, Carolyn Strebeck of Clovis and Nicki Mabery of Granbury, Texas.
The Rev. Philip Shelton will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Dora.
Pallbearers will be Billy Cathey, Tom Clark, Gene Richards, Lyndon Greathouse, Jackie Grimes, Elwood Lott, Jessie Luna and Bobby Brunson.
Honorary bearers will be the members of the Dora Fire Department and his co-workers.
Wheeler Mortuary of Portales is handling arrangements.
