Zias snap three-match losing streak

LAS VEGAS, N.M. — The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team battled back from a 2-1 deficit, earning its second win of the season at New Mexico Highlands Thursday evening.
The Zias (2-4) snapped a three-match losing streak with the 25-30, 30-27, 26-30, 30-21, 15-11 victory at the John A. Wilson Complex.
Anna Bellum led three Zias in double figures with 18 kills, while Jennifer Bullock had 49 assists. Kelley McGinty added 17 kills and Emilie Rodman 10 for ENMU.
Grace George led ENMU with nine blocks.
Bellum also led the Zias with 26 digs, while Olivia Boan added 13 and Bullock 10.
Kindy Peterson led NMHU (4-2) with 18 kills, and Kacey Frederickson had 45 assists.
The Zias return to action Tuesday at Lubbock Christian University. ENMU will be on the road next weekend for the Southwest Regional Classic in Lawton, Okla., before returning for their home opener Sept. 23 against NMHU.
