PHS wins award for yearbook staff

The 2002/2003 Portales High School yearbook staff recently won an honorable mention after placing in the top 10 percent of 8,000 schools publishing annuals through Talyor Publishing Company.
Yearbooks published by Taylor were evaluated for excellence in one or more of the following areas: Cover design, theme development and page design.
PHS yearbook advisor Dale Jones said the yearbook’s design was consistent throughout the book and was most likely a factor in the award.
“Every year the staff is really excited about making changes from last year and how can we do better, what can we do different,” Jones said. “It’s fun to see what their ideas are and how they feel about changing things.”
The PHS yearbook will also be featured in Taylor Publishing’s 2004 Yearbook Yearbook.
“Taylor Publishing’s Yearbook Yearbook is the premier yearbook-specific design annual,” said Clif Palmberg, Yearbook Yearbook editor, in a press release. “The schools featured are some of the trend-setters of the industry.”
Thousands of yearbook editors at schools in America use the ideas in the publication to strengthen their own school’s yearbook, according to the press release from Taylor Publishing.
