Upcoming events
• School Board will meet Monday at 7 p.m.
• There will be no school Jan. 17 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

• Monday, junior high girls and boys vs. Fort Sumner here, 5 p.m.
• Tuesday, JV boys, varsity girls and boys vs. Gateway Christian here, 4 p.m.
• Thursday, junior high girls and boys at Dora, 5 p.m.
• Thursday, varsity girls and boys vs. Lake Arthur here, 5 p.m.
• Friday, JV and varsity girls and boys at Mountainair, 4:30 p.m.

New Mexico State University representatives will be at the school Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. to meet with seniors about admissions and scholarships.
Representatives from Eastern New Mexico University will be at the school Jan. 20 to speak to the seniors from 9:05-9:55 a.m. Also on Jan. 20, there will be a FASFA training in the library at 6 p.m. Representatives from ENMU’s financial aid office and Educational talent search will be here to assist parents and students in filling out the FASFA forms.

Spelling bee
The school spelling bee is Friday.

Booster club news
The booster club will be selling mums for Homecoming, which is Jan. 21. Anyone who wishes to order a mum must do so by Friday. For information, please see Monica Gibson.
The booster club is also selling tickets for a quilt giveaway. The quilt features embroidered blocks of the academic and athletic activities sponsored by the booster club. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Tickets can be bought at the home basketball games. The quilt will be given away at the athletic banquet in May.
