Broncos hold off Elida in district tilt

FLOYD — Junior Kyle Kropf scored 21 points and Floyd held off a late rally by Elida for a 63-56 District 3-1A boys basketball victory on Friday night.
Jerrod Long added 19 points and Manny Carrillo 12 for the Broncos (10-8, 1-1 district), who bounced back from a three-point district loss at Fort Sumner on Tuesday. Kropf, Long and Carrillo each converted a trio of 3-pointers.
Freshman Wesley Gilmore had 17 points for the Tigers (11-6, 1-1). Senior Dylan Radcliff knocked in three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points for Elida, and junior Thomas West added 12 points.

Thursday — At Clovis, the Gattis freshman boys basketball team held off Faith Triumphant 47-44 on Thursday.
Junior Caleb Richards finished with 22 points to lead the Conquerors in scoring.
The FTCS girls team, made up of a combination of high school and junior high girls, absorbed a 46-14 setback from Gattis.
Rashea Kelly had seven points and four rebounds for the Lady Conquerors. Cassie Paden added four points and five steals and Victoria Payen scored three points and grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds.
