Lubbock Christian sweeps past Rams

LUBBOCK — Nick Quigley had four extra base hits, including a home run in each game, and picked up the second-game pitching victory Monday night as the Lubbock Christian Eagles swept past Portales High’s baseball team 15-5 and 18-8.
Both games ended in the fifth inning on the 10-run rule.
Lubbock Christian (14-5) banged out 25 hits in the two games. The Rams (6-5) saw their losing streak reach five games — all in the past five days.
Senior Tyler Rutherford homered in the second game for the Rams, who kept the game alive with a five-run fifth to cut into a 17-3 deficit.
