March 27 Dora School News

The week has passed quickly to most as the spring break was spent by most just having great fun. However, some staff members and students have spent the time wisely.

FFA teams
Not one day has gone by that Kit Pettigrew and the special teams have not been hard at work practicing for the task ahead of winning honors for our school and their own accomplishments.

Dora BPA
The Dora Chapter of Business Professionals of America had four people qualify to attend the National Leadership Conference while competing at the state conference in Albuquerque.

Those who will be attending the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif., are: Ashley Carter, who will be attending as the New Mexico BPA State Reporter; Sara Allison, who will be receiving the Ambassador Torch Award; Lorraine Floyd and Martha Balbuena, who received second place in the Website Development Team contest. Lorraine Floyd will also be competing in Integrated Office Applications contest at the national level.

Congratulations also go to J.R. Gonzales who received second place in the Parliamentary Procedure written test at the state level; Allison, who was a top ten finalist in the Parliamentary Procedure written test; and Cassie Skelley, who was a top ten finalist in Spreadsheet Analysis.

The Parliamentary Procedure Team was also in the top four at the State Conference. The team consists of : Jennifer Davis, Allison, Carter, Cassie and Gonzales.

High school track
We have track meets on Tuesday at Ft. Sumner and Thursday at Jal.

School will be in session on April 4 in order to make up for our snow day on March 15. Due to this change, our detention Monday will be moved to April 11.
See you in school on Tuesday for regular classes.
