Clovis school officials on Thursday selected Rhonda Seidenwurm of Las Cruces as their new superintendent for the district.
Clovis school board members said Seidenwurm has tentatively accepted the offer, pending negotiations related to salary and benefits.
Clovis schools began searching for a new head administrator in January.
Former Superintendent Neil Nuttall resigned from the position in November after seven years to assume the presidency of North Central Missouri College.
Five finalists were interviewed for the Clovis job over the last month.
Seidenwurm is currently the deputy superintendent of instruction for Las Cruces public schools.
She was also a finalist for the superintendent’s position at Los Lunas schools.
Board members in Los Lunas held an executive session Thursday night to consider their finalists, but took no formal action after returning to public session, board members said.
