Danny and Ginger Scott of Artesia announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Anessa Scott of Portales to Casey Golden, of Portales, son of Lon and Karen Golden of Cliff.
The couple will exchange vows June 11, 2005 at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Artesia with the reception at the church hall.
The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Eastern New Mexico University and is also employed at ENMU.
The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of Cliff High School and is employed at Hampton Farms.

John and Koetta Carrell of Abilene, Texas announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Suzanne Carrell of Portales, to Michael Childers of Clovis, son of Cindy Boswell of Theodore, Ala. and Ronnie Childers of Summerdale, Ala.
The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m., June 12, 2005 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 524 N. Globe, Portales. The reception will be at the home of Melveta Walker, 263 NM 88 (E. Third St.)
The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Clovis Community College and is a cosmetologist at Creative Images in Portales.
The prospective groom is employed by Gary Childers Construction of Clovis.
All friends and relatives are invited to the ceremony and reception.
The children of Louis and Molly Urioste invite friends and family in honor of their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Portales.
A reception will follow services at 1500 S. Ave. E, Portales.
There will be a dance from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Memorial Building on Seventh and Abilene.
The couple has seven children, 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
No invitations will be sent, all family and friends welcomed. No gifts are required. There will be a money tree available.
East Valley View Homemakers Club
The East Valley View Homemakers Club met at Golden Acres Monday.
Tessie Okuseinde and Lorene McAlister were hostesses. Tessie called the meeting to order, Helen Jones read the minutes of the last meeting and Rose Johns read the treasurer’s report; both were approved as read.
Lorene McAlister read a poem “Reflect Upon Your Blessings.” Crafts of kitchen angels were made by everyone. They are pretty and will make nice gifts.
Janie Bartel gave the blessing for the delicious noon meal of ham and chicken casseroles, vegetables, salads, deserts and hot rolls.
Hostesses for the next meeting June 7 are Mildred Morgan and Lou Wayne Rogers. We will play bingo, and each member is asked to bring several gifts for the game.
