The names of the four candidates for a new judicial seat in the 9th Judicial were released Friday by officials at the University of New Mexico law school after the application process closed.
They are:
• Robert S. Orlick — resident of Curry County and is an attorney.
• Kent Peterson — resident of Roosevelt County and works at 9th Judicial District Court in Portales as a Child Support Hearing Officer
• David P. Reeb Jr. — resident of Clovis. He is an attorney with Harmon & Reeb LLC.
• Michelle O. Reeves — owns a home in Clovis and lives in Tucumcari. She works in the 9th Judicial District Court as a law clerk and a special master for children’s court delinquency matters.
In April, Gov. Bill Richardson signed a $1.8 million bill providing for eight new judgeships across the state. The 9th Judicial District received one of those judgeships, a press release from the governor’s office said.
The 9th Judicial District currently has three judges.
