Amarillo Chamber to visit Clovis
Representatives of the city of Amarillo, the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and the Amarillo Economic Development Council will visit Clovis on Thursday, according to a Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce press release.
The representatives will host a press conference at 4 p.m. at the Clovis-Carver Public Library North Annex, and focus on the regional importance of Cannon Air Force Base, the release said.
Community members are welcome at the press conference. Other communities interested in participating in the meeting should contact the Chamber at 763-3435.

Supporters asked to line streets
The Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce is urging supporters of Cannon Air Force Base to line north Prince Street and Commerce Way by 7 a.m. Friday and remain there until after the BRAC motorcade passes.
Chamber officials said the route is from La Quinta Inn on Prince Street south to Commerce Way, and following Commerce Way to Marshall Junior High.
Some block assignments have been made, but base supporters are welcome to join anywhere along the route, the release said. Pre-arrangements are not necessary.

Free skate session on Friday
A free-admission skate session will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in honor of “Keep Cannon.”
Organizers ask that area residents bring their family to the free event after the Base Realignment and Closure regional hearing at Marshall Junior High School. The event will be held at Roller World Skating Center at 1721 Wallace St.
