Touchstone earns place on academic team

Eastern New Mexico University’s Ty Touchstone has been named to the ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-America men’s track/cross country team, chosen by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Touchstone, a business administration and computer information systems major from Lubbock, recently completed his bachelor’s degree at ENMU. He had a 4.0 grade point average through the fall semester. He had been chosen first-team ESPN The Magazine All-District VI earlier in the spring, making him eligible for the All-America award.
He ran the 200 and 400-meter races and competed on the 400 and 1,600 relays for the Greyhounds in track, and he was also a starter for the football team at safety.
He was a first-team Academic All-America in 2003 and 2004 in football, and earned second-team Academic All-America honors in 2002. He was first-team Academic All-District all three years in football.
