Evangelist Jerry McGee will be featured during services beginning Aug. 28 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Clovis.
McGee, a former drug dealer in the Hell’s Angels motorcyle gang, is the Founder and President of Freedom Crusade Ministries, International which is located in Winston-Salem, N.C. He travels around the country to offer a message of salvation.
He preaches to schools, colleges, prisons, and churches addressing the problem of drugs, violence, alcohol, and teen pregnancy. In addition to his testimony of being converted from a life of crime, he also preaches on several subjects dealing with the Christian life and deliverance during the crusade.
“When I travel around the country to speak, the last day of the ministry I ride in on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle,” McGee said. “Several years ago, a pastor asked me to do it and it turned out to be well received. It motivated a lot of people in the street to turn to Christ.”
In 2002, he was honored with the Martin Luther King, Jr. “Keep the Dream Alive” award.
He will be at services for the church Aug. 28 at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. each night Aug. 29-31. McGee plans to ride his motorcyle into the church sanctuary on the final service.
The church is located at 1800 N. Norris in Clovis. A nursery is provided for all services. For information, call the church office at 769-1971.
