Information on creating a quick and easy picture frame, how to keep cut flowers fresh longer and making healthy snacks will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at noon and on Saturday at 2 p.m. (All times are Mountain).
“Creative Living” airs on public broadcasting station, KENW-TV, from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales.
Chris Thornton is an artist and designer with Delta Technical Coatings in Whittier, Calif. She will demonstrate using a new product called FabriCraft to make an attractive picture frame which can be completed in six minutes or less.
Jill Slater is with the California Cut Flower Commission in Watsonville, Calif. She will show how to keep cut flowers fresh longer.
Tara Gillette represents KitchenAid in Benton Harbor, Mich. She will show how to prepare some healthy snacks by using some of our common kitchen appliances.
Information on making spun lace and Tex-Mex cooking will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday at noon.
Patsy Shields is with Sulky of America in Sellersburg, Ind. She will show how to use a brush-off stabilizer when doing free motion stitching on the machine. The result is spun lace and the possibilities for making appliqués and designs are endless.
Jeannetta Davis represents the Mushroom Council in Dublin, Calif. and the Florida Tomato Committee located in Orlando, Fla. She will discuss selection, storage, nutrition and availability of mushrooms and tomatoes while she prepares two Tex-Mex recipes.

Tomato and Mango Salsa
1 cup diced fresh tomato
1 cup diced fresh mango
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh jalapeno
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Makes 2 cups.
