ABILENE, Texas — Senior Lindsey Martin went over the 5,000 mark for her career in assists Thursday night, and Abilene Christian posted a 30-26, 30-20, 30-17 victory over Eastern New Mexico University in Lone Star Conference South Division volleyball.
ACU (15-3, 4-0 South) maintained its hold on the division lead while extending its homecourt winning streak to 30 matches. The Wildcats’ last homecourt loss came against West Texas A&M nearly two years ago.
Martin had 38 assists in the match, giving her 5,022 for her career and making her just the fourth player in LSC history to achieve 5,000.
Amanda Slate had 13 kills for Abilene Christian, which now has won 15 in a row overall since starting the season 0-3.
Michelle Bernhardt added 12 kills and 14 digs and Abbie Lowry chipped in 11 kills for the Wildcats, while Ashlee Motola had one of the team’s two solo blocks and was also credited with seven block assists.
The Zias (5-10, 1-2) were led by junior middle blocker Grace George with nine kills, four block assista and one block solo. Lindsay Schiely had eight kills, while Vanessa Wilcox collected 16 kills and Rhea Wortman added 13.
