CLOVIS — Texico’s bats went crazy on Tuesday and the Wolverines rolled to a 32-11 victory over Dora at Brady Field.
Casey O’Connor led the Coyotes (5-6) with three hits in four at-bats, but Dora coach Ty Thatcher said Texico belted several home runs in a game stopped in the fifth by the 10-run rule.
Dora won a junior varsity contest from Texico 24-12.
On Monday, Floyd got two home runs from Chey Chenault, including a three-run shot in the sixth, and handed the Coyotes a 13-8 District 6-1A loss at Dora.
“We hit the ball fairly well, but it seemed like we straned a lot of runners,” Thatcher summed up. “I thought they (Broncos) did a pretty good job of making some key plays in the field.”
J.R. Gonzales led the Coyotes attack against Floyd with two doubles.
Dora posted a 21-4 win over the Broncos in JV action.
