Mary “Sue” Booth, 81, of Clovis, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Laurel Plains Nursing Home.
Born May 31, 1924, to David William and Myrtle Banks Colligan in Portales, she married Rex Booth on Nov. 19, 1946, in Portales. She graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She was employed at the Portales News-Tribune during World War II and was a retired teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Ann Smith (and husband, Jerry) of Elida; a sister, Martha Ann Brown of Ruidoso; a grandchild, Maura Griffith of Alabama; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Mercedes Griffin, both of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
Lunch will be served at noon Wednesday at the Elida Methodist Church.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Wheeler Mortuary Chapel in Portales.
Bill Lott, 55, of Portales, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at his residence in Highway.
He was born March 1, 1951, in Portales to Patsy and Oscar “Pouch” Lott.
He grew up in Highway and graduated from Dora High School in 1970. He served in the U.S. National Guard for 6 years and had worked as a diesel mechanic in Sudan, Texas, for a short time. He spent the majority of his life as a self-employed mechanic.
Family members said he enjoyed fishing and farming.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother, of Highway; brothers, James Lott of Highway, Leroy Lott ( and wife, Betty) of Highway and Charlie Lott (Beth) of Hampton, Ark.; sister, Kathleen Flatt (Kiven) of Bryan, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Aaron and Jason Kizer will officiate
Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be George Beggs, William Kizer, Terry Don Watson, Joe Bob Bentel, Mack Kizer and Bill Little.
Honorary pallbearers will be all family members and friends.
