A single-vehicle roll-over Wednesday afternoon in Curry County left one person dead, according to the Curry County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver of the vehicle, Wanda Endley, 52, of Melrose, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies.
A passenger, 52-year-old Linda Woods, was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center, Sheriff’s Deputy Sam Elliston said.
Endley and Woods are sisters, police said.
Around 1 p.m. a school bus driver spotted an overturned vehicle on Curry Road 11, Elliston said.
Police said Endley was traveling westbound in a 2003 Ford Windstar minivan when the vehicle left the road, causing it to roll.
The bus driver went to her next stop and had someone call police, according to Elliston.
“It’s hard to say how long they’d been there,” he said.
