According to Capt. Ray Chambers of the Eastern New Mexico University Police Department, members of the community will be able to seek shelter in Greyhound Arena in the event that a tornado reaches the area.
“We will have that available if that (tornado) occurs,” Chambers said.
The public is encouraged to stay in there homes if they do not have time to seek shelter. This will help to prevent being caught in the storm. Transportation will be available, Chambers said.
“We try to accommodate as many people as we can,” Chambers said.
Additional shelter can be sought in the auditoriums at the various schools, if the need arises, Chambers said.
