At their regular meeting Monday, the Portales Municipal School Board heard from officials and board members of La Casa Family Health Center in Portales regarding their recent discontinuation of services at Portales Schools.
The board also heard a presentation of the 2004-2005 audit by Gayland Cowen of Roy Woodard & Associates.
In other business the board:
• Recognized Lisa Harrell for being awarded a Center for Teaching Excellence Professional Development Project Grant in the amount of $387.
• Accepted a donation to the Portales High School Library from the Class of 1946 presented by Joan Brown.
• Accepted a $1,000 donation to the Portales High School Baseball team from the Wal-Mart Foundation.
• Recognized school board member Inez Rodriguez on her election as president of New Mexico School Boards Association, Region V.
