Q. Describe what your job entails/
A. I’m administrative support for the mayor and city manager, also do grant writing, set-up for events, PR, press releases. Anything that basically has to do with community affairs.
Q. What is a typical day on the job like for you?
A. There’s different things going on all the time. It just depends, It’s different day to day, it’s always something new.
Q. Why did you choose this job?
A. I choose this because I was interested in city government and love community affairs. I just love city government and the job. The people here are great and they just mentor me.
Q. What type of training/schooling do you need for your job?
A. I have some training in PR experience and training in computers. Also have bachelor’s degree in business, which helps. Writing skills help, you have to be good at technical writing.
Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?
A. I enjoy, again, not having the same everyday. I enjoy meeting the people and being involved in the community and the growing and progress of Portales. It’s exciting to be involved in it.
