Job: Office Assistant at Portales Medical Clinic and Connection Center/Photo Lab Associate at Wal-Mart.

Background: Jones began working at the clinic while still in high school

Q. What does your job entail?
A. Checking patients out, filing and editing Medicare claims. Soon he’ll be doing insurance claims. Assisting with billing, groundskeeping.

Q. What is a typical day on the job like for you?
A. A typical day on the job is starting early and going home late.

Q. Why did you choose this job?
A. Because it’s family and their vision for this clinic was to be a family run business and I’m doing my part to help.

Q. What type of training do you need for your job?
A. You have to be good with computers, efficient with the software, and you have to understand CPT and ICD-9 coding.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?
A. I love getting to interact with people knowing that we are making a difference in their well being.
