Upcoming events
• Seniors will meet Thursday at the Floyd Senior Citizens Center for games and fellowship. Pot Luck is at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m.
• There will be no school Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There will be school Friday to make up for it.
• 4-H will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Community Building. They will have officer elections.

Jamboree tryouts
Auditions for the Floyd Lions Club Jamboree 2008 will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 27 in the old gym of the Floyd School.
You should have two traditional country/western or gospel songs for your audition. You should know the words to the songs and in what key you will be singing. Extra copies of words and chords are helpful. Special acts can audition.

Willie Terrell Hinger, 101, died Jan 14 in Lubbock. She was born Dec. 23, 1906. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred J. Hinger. She is survived by several family members and friends. Cremation has taken place and at her request there were no services.

• Homecoming is Friday at the school. Games begin at 4 p.m., starting with junior varsity girls and boys.
