A storm will cross the state Thursday through Saturday, bringing snow and rain , the National Weather Service said.
A winter storm watch is in effect in Curry County from Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon. Friday’s forecast for Curry County is partly cloudy and cooler with scattered rain showers in the evening with numerous snow showers after midnight. Snow showers will switch over to rain showers by Saturday afternoon.
Most of the snow likely will fall Friday over the western and northwestern mountains, then shift to the central and south-central mountains through Saturday.
Snow also could accumulate at lower elevations, and freezing rain could develop Friday through Saturday morning over parts of the eastern plains.
Strong wind should blast the state’s higher terrain.
