Name: Adrianna Stratton
Job: Pharmacy clerk, CJ’s Pillbox

Background: Adrianna Stratton is currently studying pharmacy under the biology degree at Eastern New Mexico University. The experience began at CJ’s Pillbox. She has wanted to be a pharmacist since high school and is signed up to go to Texas Tech in Amarillo after completing her prerequisites at ENMU. My role model who is a pharmacist has always encouraged me to be a pharmacist Adrianna said.

Q. Describe what your job entails?
A. Assisting customers, and being in charge of orders and stocking and helping with over-the-counter products plus answering phones, supporting personnel, and running errands. I help order new prescriptions and help at the cash register.

Q. What is a typical day on the job like for you?
A. Busy, crazy, hectic, this is typical. People are in and out all day and passing in the drive-thru. It is very fast paced

Q. Why did you choose this job?
A. Because I want the experience for pharmacy school and I absolutely enjoy learning this industry. I’m intrigued by the medicine field

Q. What type of training, if any, do you need for your job?
A. You need people skills, customer service, and learning the new cash register process. I’ve learned generic brands from the brand name, and I’m learning about the ordering systems plus inventory control.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your job?
A. The people I work with I adore and the experience I’m receiving. I am learning so much for my pharmacy degree that I want to accomplish at Texas Tech.
