A Portales man was sentenced Friday to more than five years for stealing copper wire, according to the district attorney’s office.
Pedro “Pete” Galvan, 52, will be required to pay restitution to the victim and serve one year supervised probation when he is released, a press release said.
According to the release, in October, a Roosevelt County property owner saw Galvan and another individual enter his barn and called police.
Police arrested the two and found a bag of wiring pulled from the barn, burglary tools and shoe prints matched to Galvan, the release said.
