The Roosevelt General Hospital Auxiliary met Sept. 14 at Golden Acres with 36 members attending.
Steve North from the District Attorney’s office spoke about the Newman Project. Some members signed up to have their homes evaluated for safety.
Hour bars were presented to Mary Kay Kalin for 100 hours; to Carl Britton Sr., Billie Raether and Linda Uttaro for 500 hours; and to Beverly Baugh and Lee Shumate for 1,000 hours.
The auxiliary approved the purchase of lifting boards for $500 and a wheelchair for $250.
Gay Weese, marketing specialist at RGH, was guest speaker at the Oct. 15 meeting. Weese explained the new name for RGH Physicians’ Clinic.
She discussed a poster contest for the sixth grade fine arts classes at Lindsey Elementary School and a project for fourth graders to sketch what the hospital means to them. The fourth grade sketches will be used as Christmas card designs.
Volunteers are needed to serve juice at Heartland Continuing Care center, and larger-sized clothing is needed for the recycled rack at Heartland.
The group voted not to participate in Holiday Happenings, approved the purchase of a new floral arrangement for the fireplace, and discussed the December bake sale.
