PNT Staff Report
Construction crews will soon begin narrowing streets in Portales around the Roosevelt County courthouse square, starting with South Main Street.
City Manager Debi Lee said Tuesday that crews are doing this for their safety while they work on the perimeter of the square.
South Main and Second Streets will have a stop sign installed to slow traffic. A traffic light will be placed at that corner within the following month.
Lee said the city will be upgrading the current light at South Main and First Street.
