Hospital board holds off on proposed employee policy

PNT Staff Report

The on-again, off-again attempt to establish a policy for employees serving on the Roosevelt General Hospital Board is off again, at least for a while.

The wording of a proposed new policy was challenged by board member Peggy Davis Tuesday and tabled for further discussion at a future meeting.

“They table the policy every discussion. They probably wanted more community involvement, that is why they tabled it,” Eva Stevens Roosevelt General Hospital, Chief Financial Officer said. “It was discussed about two months ago, there were several comments made about the pros and cons of the issue. This is probably an issue that needs more community input on it.”

The proposed policy would prohibit employees from serving on the Board of Directors to insure against conflicts of interest. Stevens says other boards have this policy in place.
