Boysetta Beggs and her daughter Kyleen Willis have added a little flair to the Portales Square with Crafty Creations.
The crafts store is a place where people can rent a booth and sell their creations. People don’t have to worry about being there to sell their items because Willis and Beggs do that for them.
Beggs said the store name was her daughter’s idea.
“We wanted to get the name across (to the community),” Beggs said. “We wanted the crafters in our area to have a place to come to and sell their items. The name was something we wanted to be eye-catching.”
Willis said her mother has always wanted to open a store.
It took some time before Crafty Creations became a reality.
The family put a lot of effort in cleaning the store, building the booths and locating people to rent the booths.
Most of the business has been by word of mouth.
Beggs said the spaces are for rent, so people can come in, pick out a spot where they want to set up.
“They can call or come by,” Beggs said. “We’ll meet with them, even if they can’t come during normal business hours.”
Beggs has been crafting for a long time herself, But because she is so busy with the store, she hasn’t had the time to set up her own goods.
They have floral arrangements, t-shirts, bows, religious items, pictures, purses, collectibles and more.
“If you look around. We already have a bunch of different items,” Beggs said.
