Eastern New Mexico University’s Dawg Days’ schedule is packed with information and entertainment.
Dawg Days is a new student orientation held at ENMU each fall to help familiarize incoming freshman with their new school.
The event runs Sunday through Tuesday.
Shandra Smith, co-director of Dawg Days, said the event is a mix of information and entertainment to get the students excited about attending ENMU.
“We bring in entertainment all year long. We’re showing them what the school has to offer,” Smith said.
One of the entertainment acts coming in is comedian Dylan Mandlsohn from Toronto, Canada. He’ll perform 6 p.m. Sunday in the Campus Union Building ballroom.
Mandlesohn said he enjoys performing at colleges across the country.
“I think I connect with university students a lot,” he said. “I have two degrees so I’ve been through the whole rigmarole.”
Mandlesohn said when he started as a comedian, he began with impressions and characters. He said he’s been a comedian since he was 17 and traveled around the country writing essays on note pads in hotels while on tour in college.
