City council to update improvement plan

Freedom New Mexico

The Portales City Council will take public comments and also plans to vote on what to include in its Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan.

It’s part of the council’s agenda for a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday — a day earlier in the week than normal.

The plan designates which improvements in roads, utilities and other major projects are priorities for the city. It can help with requesting legislative money.

The agenda also includes:

• A vote on authorization for the mayor to sign a mutual aid agreement with Cannon Air Force Base for fire protection and response to hazardous material incidents.

• A vote on authorization for the mayor to sign a renewal of the Portales Bow Hunters use agreement.

• Proclamations for Constitution Week and FTD Good Neighbor Day.

• A vote on application for public transportation grants.
