The Bible has an answer for every problem that confronts mankind. Why can’t we recognize this holy book has the key to life? The biblical principles, when applied, guarantee success to the obedient believer. Reading the Bible changes lives and circumstances.
In this modern-day world of biochemicals and nuclear threats, there is no security apart from God. Without God’s Word, people are tossed to and fro in confusion, not knowing what to do or what to believe. Stability and peace come only from knowing the one and only true God.
Our founding fathers knew this source of life. Their love and respect for God’s Word displayed the secret of their greatness.
The Bible is the only thing that stands the test of time. Dictators have tried to destroy it. Communism has tried to annihilate it. Atheists have denied it. Opponents have tried to discount it.
Yet the Bible still remains the only truth. It will never pass away: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).
The Bible provides the standard of behavior. Any deviation from its principles results in devastation. Imagine a world with no absolutes, just “doing one’s own thing.” (We have plenty of that.) A society who “does what is right in his or her own eyes” (Judges 17:6) offers no peace or security.
You will find an answer in the Bible for every troubling situation:
• Discouragement: Read Isaiah 40:28-31
• Crisis: Read Psalm 46:1-7
• Fear: Read Psalm 27:1-6
• Anxiety: Read Psalm 107:19-22
• Healing: Read Psalm 103:1-5
• Temptation: Read Psalm 139:1-7
• Finances: Read Psalm 37:1-9
• Traveling: Read Psalm 121:1-8
• Weariness: Read Matthew 11:28-30.
• Peace: Read John 14:1-6
• Sorrow: Read 1 Corinthians 15:50-58.
• More faith: Read Hebrews 11.
• Children: Read Isaiah 54:13.
Daily Bible reading will provide strength, comfort, peace, joy and direction for your life.
In spite of all the corruption we see, there is hope. His name is Jesus, and we are given the gift of prayer. He tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 how to keep the faith: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by pray and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)
We think of the abbreviation ASAP as saying, “As soon as possible.” That only adds to stress, so let’s change that to say, “Always say a prayer.”
Let’s open the Bible. You will find hidden treasures. Believe and receive! You will find a new beginning. When prayers go up, blessings come down.
The Bible stands the test of time!
