Hounds win team title at Cowboy Jamboree

STILLWATER, Okla. — Junior Richard Kogo of Kenya finished sixth and freshman Jacob Lozano of Hobbs was eighth Saturday, leading the Eastern New Mexico University men’s cross country team to a six-point victory over Colorado College in the college/junior college division of the Cowboy Jamboree, hosted by Oklahoma State.

Kogo covereed the 8K race in 25 minutes, 45.4 seconds while Lozano ran a time of 25:47.1 for the Greyhounds, who finished with 100 points to 106 for Colorado College in a field of 28 schools.

ENMU’s women were 15th with 329 points. The Zias were led by sophomore Nicole Reid, who placed 33rd in the 5K race in a time of 20:06.3.

New Mexico Junior College took the women’s team titie with 83 points to 132 for Cowley County (Kan.) Community College. There were 26 full teams in the women’s division.

In the university division, team titles went to Northern Arizona for the men and Texas Tech for the women.
