City Council to consider Sunland annexation

At their meeting set for 7 p.m. today, Portales city councilors are set to hold a public hearing about the proposed annexation of Sunland Inc. and the accompanying zone change.

They are scheduled to vote on the issue.

The agenda also includes a planning commission report and recommendation on the final plat for the third phase of the Oakwood Manor subdivision. The council is expected to vote on economic development participation agreements between the city and Roosevelt County Community Development Corp., as well.

Finally, the drawing for a chance to have milk and cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus, an incentive in the annual Mayor’s Christmas Tree: Operation Santa Cop toy drive, is to be held.
