Stabbing case heads to grand jury

PNT staff reports

The case of the November stabbing death of Portales resident Marco Bonilla, 25, is scheduled to go before a grand jury this week, District Attorney Matt Chandler said.

Bonilla was stabbed multiple times during a fight involving several people.

The grand jury is set to convene today and hear evidence dealing with the incident. Members must decide what charges, if any, will be filed in the case, Chandler said.

The proceedings are closed to the public by law.
