Eastern New Mexico University junior guard Cat Clay was named to the All-Lone Star Conference South Division’s second team for the second-straight year.
Junior guard and Clovis native Tori Northcutt was an honorable mention for the Zias.
Clay led the Zias with 14.2 points per game and was tops in the Lone Star Conference from the arc, hitting 81 3-pointers on the season, with at least one in 25 of 27 games for ENMU (8-19, 3-9 LSC South).
She enters her senior season with 910 career points, tied for 15th on the school’s career scoring list..
Northcutt averaged 10.0 points and was third in the conference at 4.8 assists per game.
The men’s team, following two winless seasons in division play, had three players received honorable mention nods after a 10-17, 5-7 campaign — senior Equs Darby and juniors Reggie Nelson and Tyler Jefferson.
Joni Unruh of West Texas A&M was the division’s player of the year, and Lady Buffs coach Krista Gerlich was tabbed as the coach of the year.
LaMarshall Corbett of Angelo State was named the South’s men’s player of the year, with Grant McCasland of Midwestern State taking coach of the year honors.
