Earth Day

Lana Powell, science teacher, and her classes showed their willingness to improve their surroundings by picking up 83 bags of trash Thursday.

The students cleaned up the area around the school as a special project for Earth Day.

Sports

• Wednesday – Track meet for grades 4-6 in Elida

• Thursday – Baseball at Texico (2), 3 p.m.

• Friday – District track at Fort Sumner

Prom

The Dora Junior/Senior prom will be held May 1 in the Rogers Gymnasium. Class sponsor Joe Fletcher and the juniors have set the theme as, “A Walk Down Candyland Lane” for this year’s event.

Progress reports

Teachers will issue reports to students to take home to parents on May 3. The reports show academic progress through the sixth week of the final grading period.

Library deadline

Patsy Ward, librarian, has set May 3 as the deadline to return all library materials checked out to students.

All library fines must be paid by this deadline as well.
