Child find

Patty Mohon, preschool teacher, has scheduled May 11 for the annual “Child Find” screening for developmental delays.

Parents who wish to register their child for preschool or kindergarten for the fall 2010 semester are invited to come anytime from 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Bring your child’s birth certificate, shot record and Social Security card.

FFA nationals

Kit Pettigrew and seven Dora students are in Oklahoma City through Friday to represent Dora Schools at the National Future Farmers of America competition.

Competing are Logan Bilbrey, Renee Gantert, Colton Gruis, Kyler King, Jordan Inge, Jalayna Roberts and Jake Tayler.

BPA nationals

With a lot of hard work and the generous support of Clovis, Portales and Dora businesses and community members, the Dora BPA chapter has raised the needed funds and will leave on Tuesday for their National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif.

Twenty-one students are prepared to compete in a variety of competitions, serve as interns, participate in workshops and meet new friends from across the country.

May field trips

• Today — Grades 2 and 3 travel to Fort Sumner.

• Monday — Grades 4 and 5 travel to Carlsbad.

• May 18 — Grade 6 travels to White Sands.
