Curry County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for an inmate released from the jail by mistake last week.
Johnny Cordova, 45, was released Wednesday, Undersheriff Wesley Waller.
The sheriff’s office were notified of the “inadvertent” release Monday afternoon, Waller said.
“As we speak investigators are out searching for him,” he said.
Cordova had been out on bond for felony DWI, but was at the jail because his bond had been revoked. He was also serving a six-month sentence for driving on a revoked license and other traffic offenses, Waller said.
Waller said he does not know why law enforcement wasn’t notified of the mistaken release sooner or how the mistake happened.
Cordova is described is 5-feet, 4-inches tall weighing 190 pounds.
