During the Roosevelt County Commission meeting Tuesday morning at the county courthouse, commissioners:
• voted to renew a contract for Stephens Construction and Ready Mix Inc. of Texico to haul road materials for the county. The estimated contract value is $100,000, according to the contract. Stephens is paid per ton and mile, and $67.50 per hour for bobtail trucks.
• voted to renew a contract with Heflin Construction Inc. of Portales for on-site caliche crushing. Heflin is to receive $3.75 per yard crushed.
• approved a memorandum of understanding between the county and the Town of Elida for Elida to pay for county road crews to chip-seal town streets. Road Department Supervisor Ricky Lovato said the county would receive about $20,000 to chip-seal about four-and-a-half miles of Elida streets. He estimated the work would take about four days.
• approved the disposal of obsolete road equipment and vehicles. Lovato said they would be sold at auction.
