PORTALES, N.M.— Freshman defender Jehmaine Brooks (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Notre Dame Catholic Secondary) from the Eastern New Mexico University men’s soccer team has been selected as the Lone Star Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, for his outstanding play against Texas A&M International University and St. Mary’s.
He joins Kal Herbert (So., M, Willaston England/Neston HS) and Andy Wilkinson (Fr., M, Lewes, East Sussex, England/Sussex Downs, who also garnered weekly LSC Offensive Player of the Week honors, in late September.
Brooks scored his second goal of the season early in the second half, against regionally-ranked Texas A&M-International. The goal proved to be critical as the Greyhounds went on to a double-overtime tie against the Dustdevils.
The Eastern New Mexico University men’s soccer team will return to Lone
Star Conference play, tonight, when they visit West Texas A&M. On Sunday, the Greyhounds will host Northeastern State.
