Dogs of all breeds and sizes will be showing their stuff for three days starting Friday at the third annual Stars and Stripes Agility Trial.
Scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. each day with events ending around 5 p.m., the trials will be held at the Curry County Events Center.
The event is free and open to the public.
Sanctioned by the AKC, the trials test dogs starting each day with excellent, then intermediate and novice levels.
Concessions will be available throughout.
More than 300 dogs are expected to compete each day, according to a press release.
A new addition to the competitions this year is the “fast competitions” to be held in the last three events Friday and Saturday.
The event is described as good family fun for spectators who get to watch “exciting and entertaining dogs and handlers compete,” the release said.
“Kids of all ages really enjoy seeing these dogs from many surrounding states compete.”
Spectators should note, the release said, non-competing dogs are not allowed on the fairgrounds, there is no flash photography allowed and spectators are not allowed on the event floor.
