Sadly, last week marked the fourth time I’ve been sick this winter, which means I missed out on several great events. So my forms of entertainment in the last week have come entirely from my work and home life.
Last weekend, I wrote a story on local gamers and I learned a lot about the Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh card games and that the gaming community is filled with really cool people. And I’m now slightly tempted to try out Magic playing myself.
I also covered an event at the Ag Expo Tuesday afternoon and I have to admit, before going, I was not entirely sure how well I would cover anything at the Ag Expo, because I am in the beginning learning stages with all things agricultural. I watched a demonstration on how to break a horse. I love horses but know little about them, so it was fun to sit and listen.
If anyone tries to tell you being educated isn’t fun, don’t believe them.
Also while covering these stories, I discovered another local band called Skasage that plays at Goober’s every Thursday night from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Check them out.
