Samplings of calls to Portales law enforcement, according to police records:

Tuesday

• About 1:50 p.m., officers responded to City Park in reference to a 911 hang-up from a cell phone. They learned from a witness that a battery had occurred and the victim and suspect left in separate vehicles.

While trying to find the vehicles, an officer was told of a battery victim at the Portales Police Department. The officer went to the department and spoke with an 18-year-old woman who said a 20-year-old woman had attacked her in City Park.

The 18-year-old was taken to Roosevelt General Hospital.

Another 18-year-old woman who was in the pickup with the victim during the battery confirmed the victim’s story.

When the officer went to RGH, he learned the suspect was in the hospital waiting room.

The 20-year-old said she’d been having trouble with the 18-year-old for some time over her boyfriend.

After the officer talked with the suspect for some time, the woman admitted hitting the 18-year-old. He told her he would seek a warrant for her arrest on charges of battery.
