Clovis resident Don Reid is a self-declared house husband. In his retirement, he spends his time working around the house, visiting hospitals and retirement homes, spending time with his grandchildren, teaching a men’s non-denominational Bible class and going to school to receive his minister’s license.
“I’m busier now than before I retired,” the 60-year-old said.
Reid said he enjoys that his wife can come home from work and he’s done all the work.
“Other than that, I hate it. I don’t know how women do everything,” he said.
Reid fought in Vietnam for just over a year in the Army. He wrote a book about his experiences to share with his children and published about 1,500 copies himself.
