Press release: Gasoline moves closer to record prices

IRVING, TEXAS — Prices in many areas of New Mexico moved up by four to eight cents over the past week. And some cities, including Las Cruces, are now within 26 cents of their all-time record high, according to the AAA New Mexico Weekend Gas Watch.

The state average price increased by five cents to $3.79 a gallon for regular unleaded – 96 cents more than a year ago at this time and just 29 cents away from the record high of $4.08 reached on July 17, 2008.
