Nationally known Monster trucks and utility vehicle racing comes to the Curry County Fairgrounds this weekend.
This is the third year Cycle City Promotions along with The Bank of Clovis will bring the monster truck show to Clovis at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
“We want the people to come out and enjoy a great show,” said Tod Hammock, promoter.
Hammock said several of the monster truck world’s favorites like the Bounty Hunter, Ghost Ryder and the Barbarian will be featured in this two day event.
“This show will feature all the action of televised monster truck events, cars crushing, racing and of course ramps and jumps,” Hammock said.
Hammock said Cycle City Promotions has had a lot of experience with these events and enjoy coming to Clovis.
“We have been producing the arena motocross in conjunction with the Curry County Fair for the past 10 years,” Hammock said.
As a teaser, a special showing of the monster truck Hurricane Force driven by Tim Mente will be displayed 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Watson Motor Co.
“This is a small event to get the public ready for the weekend,” Hammock said. “We are always well received by the residents of Clovis and Curry County.”
Hammock said local UTV and pit-bike racers can get in on the action by entering races pitting New Mexico racers against Texas drivers.
“This is the first time we are holding the UTV races,” Hammock said. “It has become a very popular event on west coast and we are happy to be first to bring it to this area.”
Hammock said there is no charge to enter but space is limited. He said eight UTV and eight pit bike racers have contacted him about the races.
Advance tickets for the event can be purchased at any local McDonald’s. Adults are $15, children $9, kids under 3 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $2 more.
