Hounds add game at Long Beach State

PORTALES — The Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds will play in California next season.

The Greyhounds play at Division I Long Beach

State on Dec. 19, according to a school press release.

The 49ers finished 22-12 last season and played in the National Invitational Tournament.

“We are excited to be playing a regular season game at Long Beach State,” ENMU coach Andrew Helton said. “Coach (Don) Monson has done a terrific job with their program.

“Our players from Southern California are also looking forward to the chance to compete in front of family and friends in their home area.”

ENMU has three players on its current roster from Southern California.

The Greyhounds are coming off their first trip to the Lone Star Conference tournament since the 2005-06 season.
