The battle of the sexes improv show I was in last weekend turned out to be even more fun than I thought it would be. The girls lost, but not by much. I have to say with all of the “women belong at the kitchen sink” jokes coming our way, I think we held our own pretty well.
Thursday morning, I checked out the Van of Enchantment, the mobile museum which visited Portales. It definitely had an enchanting feel to it with all of the 1950s Route 66 memorabilia inside. The van will be at the Blackwater Draw Archeological Site Saturday and Sunday for those of you who missed it Thursday.
This weekend has good events in store for both Portales and Clovis residents. Travis Erwin will be playing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Mark’s Restaurant.
Also, don’t forget to check out the National Corriente Cattle Show all day Saturday and Sunday at the Curry County Events Center in Clovis.
The Wiener Nationals will also be held at Hillcrest Park in Clovis Saturday. Check-in for contestants is 9 a.m. and preliminary heats of racing wiener dogs begins at 11 a.m.
